Wildlife Trapping: We are expert animal trappers, and everything we do is 100% humane. With very few situation specific cases, we trap them in live cages and relocate them. Exclusion Repairs: This is perhaps the single most important factor in ensuring a successful wildlife control job. Raccoon damage permits have been concerned for properties in Jacksonville and as far south as Gainesville and Ocala. The animal advocate proclaimed the wildlife catching generally takes place at the rear of large properties and is identified because people are hearing noises in the attic, rats in the attic, squirrels in the attic, raccoons in the attic, opossums in the attic, possums in the attic, flying squirrels in the attic, wildlife in the attic, or animals in the attic. Sometimes there is even an odor from the attic or odor in the attic, smell from the attic or smell in the attic, or dead animal smell. The animal advocate proclaimed that, like many in the city of Gainesville, the animal advocate owns what appears to be a 1-hectare property that abuts what appears to be a wooded area. Mouse Catcher Scott recently saw what appears to be a group of about 20 raccoons near his property. The raccoon have changed the plant life in the area, the animal advocate proclaimed, because they destroynaturally occurring plants as well as people’s flowers and garden plants. They’ve not only affected the plant life, they’ve affected what other kinds of animals and birds come into the area. The raccoons are also reducing the amount of food for other wildlife. “I’ve gone from thinking that seeing Critter outside probably is cute and wonderful to thinking that the raccoons are damaging the environment,” the animal advocate proclaimed. Rat Catcher Scott proclaimed it probably is his understanding that there probably is really no other alternative but to reduce the size of the large group. Mouse Catcher Scott acknowledges there are too many raccoons in the city of Gainesville, but thinks lethally trapping what appears to be a few in the city of Gainesville probably is what appears to be a waste of time. The animal advocate proclaimed he’s spoken with what appears to be a relatively large amount of residents who oppose the catch. In general, the animal advocate added, people in Marion County like animals and are opposed to the idea of lethally trapping them. We could not obtain an opinion from Marion county pest control companies regarding the issue.

“The biggest one right now is armadillos tearing up people’s yards,” said Scott, of Little Rascalls Wildlife Specialists, a local business that specializes in the removal of wildlife. “Everybody’s watering their lawns and making it easier for armadillos to have somewhere to dig.”

Scott attempts to relocate wildlife unless there are signs of illness or it’s a difficult species to get permission to relocate onto someone else’s property, such as beavers.

He cautions that people should not attempt to handle wildlife on their own, especially known carriers of rabies, such as raccoons and bats. But even perfectly healthy wildlife will become defensive if they have young in the area, Scott said.

Associate Scott, recently responded to a complaint about a beaver dam behind a Jacksonville home. The large dam had allowed a pond to form near Johns Island, flood the resident’s backyard. After breaking down the beaver dam with his hands and a hard rake, Scott weighted down a 25-foot pipe to allow the water to drain back into the creek.

The pond served as a wetland for the beavers to live and feed. Trees had been gnawed down and vegetation had been killed off by too much water. But a homeowner can only take so much when snakes make regular appearances, drawn in by the wet environment.

It’s during periods of drought when homeowners are more likely to see wildlife looking for water sources. What’s a homeowner to do? Preventive maintenance is the best bet.

First, seal any holes or gaps in siding, facial boards and crawl space that unwanted insects or wildlife could use as access. Covering the outside of roof gables with screen mesh should keep out squirrels and bats, Scott said. If you attach the screen from inside your attic, squirrels will still chew their way through the gable and into the attic.

Squirrels are one of the biggest sources of complaints that Scott hears from homeowners. When a group of squirrels takes up residence in your attic, you definitely know it from the racket they make – most of which is the sound of the squirrels playing Scott said.
